Soap and a Rainy Day

22 Weeks and Growing!
Yesterday I reached my 22 week mark of pregnancy! We are so excited to invite this little girl into this world in only 18 weeks :)

Along with this growing belly of mine is my growing appetite. I don't think I have ever been so hungry in my life! And it isn't a "oh, it's lunch time, I'm pretty hungry." It's more like this, "I just ate a huge meal 30 minutes ago and now I'm just as starving as I was before I ate! Hand me a hippo, because I'm pretty sure I could eat that right about now..."
What was fortunate for me was that we had a little extra money to go treat ourselves to some delicious Indian food. India Palace on Center Street in Provo is more than delicious. And, what's even better is that we had some leftover curry (but no more rice) and before boxing it up to go, the restaurant worker went back into the kitchen and grabbed us two plates of rice to take home with us as well! So sweet of her :)

This week was Kaleb's turn to think of something to do for date night and he found a place that I had never heard of: The Soap Factory. This is such a cute little place where you can make your own soaps, scrubs, lip balm, etc. We had the chance to talk with the guy who owns the place and he actually studied physics teaching in college, but was so disappointed with the way the high schools told him what he could and could not do in his classroom that he decided to open a business where others couldn't dictate what would and would not be an educational experience. Although he is just focused on the soaps and scrubs right now, he hopes to expand his business to provide educational experiences in the science of cooking, glass blowing, metal working, as well as oils and scents found in soaps. So neat!

Anyway, we went and had such a fun time making and personalizing our soap.

After discovering all of the other things we were able to make at the shop, Kaleb encouraged me to make one of the scrubs. I picked the sugar scrub and had fun mixing in colors and scents. I'm excited to actually use it!

After cooling the soap, we got to paint it with mineral-based paints that are fun to use and customized our soap. It was so fun!

I would say that, overall, this was a very successful date night and I look forward to the many more in the future :)
